About Us

Altamar Shipping Inc. is established in Tampa, Florida. For more than 20 years we have committed to provide outstanding shipping services to customers in the United States, Central America and throughout the Caribbean.

Altamar provides regular shipping schedules to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and more. We are committed to achieve excellence in delivering not only safe, but also trustworthy, timely and high quality cargo transportation services by sea.

Services At Altamar Shipping we specialize in all types of general cargo:

Full Container Loads and LCL: We provide full service for Palletizing, Loading and Shrink Wrapping cargo in a container. Door to door service for our Florida, US and Cost Rica customers.


Break Bulk Cargo: We have vast experience handling Break Bulk Cargo as; Lumber, Super-sacks, Steel Pipes etc.		Refrigerated Cargo: We provide piece of mind for our perishable goods customers; with our top of the line Reefer units and Reefer Ships and our extensive experience dealing with frozen cargo.


Boats: We can ship any type of watercraft from 10' to 48' in length.		Automobiles & Trucks: We can ship all types of Motor vehicles or other self propelled vehicles.

What We Do

Altamar is a cost-effective, international shipping company agent specializing in facilitating the comprehensive shipping of export and import cargo.

We handle logistics and cargo shipping varying in sizes from Refrigerated Cargo to LCL cartons, to crates, to FCL 20' and 40' containers, to flat-racks, to complete ocean charters. Heavy lift and over-dimensional cargo is one of our specialties.

We also attend to all aspects of appropriate customs documentation. We are located near the Port of Tampa and therefore conveniently equipped and positioned to handle all types of ocean shipping.
